There are a myriad of big brand hotels in the Miraflores area of Peru. This is a beautiful spot on the Pacific Ocean and Peruvians are very proud to promote this as the cosmopolitan place to visit while in Lima . Hotel brands include the Belmond, Hilton, JW Marriott, Sol de Oro, etc.

The trick to saving money on your way to the airport, is to avoid the hotel ride services. These hotels provide car services for you to get around town.

For example, getting a ride to the airport from the JW Marriott Miraflores will cost you $50 USD.

The cars are late model Mercedes Benz’s and the rides are quite comfortable. But, if you prefer to save some money, simply grab a cab in front of the hotel. You can get a local taxi to take you to the airport for as little as 60 sol’s ($18.14). If you do not have sol’s, they will also accept $20.00 USD.

Through experience I have found this is a safe way to get to the airport in the same amount of time it takes to use the hotel taxi. Most of these taxi drivers due speak English and are very pleasant. The large brand hotels have local taxi drivers standing out on the sidewalk waiting for you.

If you are going to the airport, make sure you allot about 1 hour to get to the airport. Traffic is heavy at most times of the day.
